The Midwest was well represented in Louisville and Ohio this past weekend. From 2025s who stood out on the big stage to 2028s who put a stamp on their arrival on the circuit, the Midwest will be a hot bed for recruiting for the next few years, and we have some high-powered names to lead the way. Here are a few who took advantage of their week on the road—PART ONE!!
Sydney Savoury 2027 Guard Legends U 17U P24
Sydney coming off a bad ankle sprain showed she was still one of the best in the country. She was consistent from 3 hitting bomb after bomb and did a good job finishing physically in the lane. Sydney, who plays more in high school with the ball in her hands, does a great job adjusting to being a piece of the loaded Legends squad by getting open off the ball and finding her spots on the floor to have success. Sydney is the TRUTH!
Kendyl Smith 2026 Guard Legends U 16U P24
Kendyl, who always plays with non-stop energy, an extremely high IQ, and a no-back-down mentality, had the jumper clicking this weekend. She was on fire from deep, hitting shots from well past the line, which helped open up her driving lane as well. She was one of the top rebounding guards and played great pressure defense.
Tatiana Mason 2027 Guard Legends U 16U P24
Tatiana is a physical force that plays down hill all game. She was unstoppable this weekend, attacking off the bounce and finishing through contact. Tatiana is another player who plays with an extremely high motor and the mix of great physicality, a very good skill set and the desire to compete makes Mason one of the top 2027s in the Midwest.
Layla Stewart 2027 Guard Legends U 16U P24
Layla is a combo guard who is smooth off the bounce. She doesn’t use extra motion and does a great job creating her shot off the dribble and finds a way to get to her spots to knock down the jumper. She shot it well from deep and showed her toughness by battling for rebounds and loose balls. Layla will be one of the hot recruits for the next few years.
Sofia Wilson 2025 Guard Legends U 17U P24
Sofia was tough all weekend for the Legends. She took advantage of every chance on the floor by knocking down big threes, running the show, and competing at a high level on defense. Sofia is an extremely smart and tough guard who did a great job making plays off the dribble for her and her teammates.
Kenna Hunt 2028 Guard Legends U 15U P24
The 2028 class in Michigan is loaded, and Kenna showed me this weekend that she belongs right there in the conversation of one of the best. Kenna is a shifty, quick guard who got an elite handle quick a first step and showed the ability to get to her spots on the floor to make plays. She can shoot it, but she has the toughness to get in the lane, take the hit, and still finish. I was very impressed with Hunt.
Addison Zajac 2027 Post Michigan Drive Premier S40 Vieau
Addison might have the best hands in the state. Consistently getting double and sometimes triple teamed, she still managed to dominate with soft hands great foot work and a soft touch at the hoop. Addy was also a rebounding machine, grabbing almost everything that came off, averaging well over 12 a game. Addy will be a hot recruit in the years to come.
Mayrese Vieau 2028 Guard Michigan Drive Premier S40 Vieau
Mayrese has not played a minute of high school ball yet but you wouldn’t be able to tell by her aggressiveness and feel for the game. She did a great job this weekend of attacking her defender off the bounce, dropping a sweet assist, or finishing at the hoop. She shot it well from the outside and played with great energy on both ends. Vieau will be a great complement to Gaddy for her high school team at Michigan Center this year.
Harmony Laker 2025 Wing Michigan Drive Premier P24
Harmony played well this weekend showing her versatility as a big guard rebounding at a high clip, using her deceptively quick step scoring in the lane and knocking down the outside shot. Harmony does all the intangibles that will make her a great piece to any program she goes to.
Jana Honeycutt 2028 Wing Michigan Drive Premier P24 2026
Jana is one of the best prospects in the 2028 class in Michigan. She has great size and length, and, playing up two grades, she showed an ability to beat her defender off the bounce and get to the baskets using an assortment of finishes to score. Jana is soft-spoken, but once the ball goes up, toughness and intensity come out. She is tough on the boards and aggressively battling for loose balls and position.
Rayah Hitt 2026 Guard Michigan Drive Premier Willis S40
Rayah had a big-time weekend really turning some heads on coach’s row. She scored the ball at a high level, hitting the jumper from deep, getting to the basket off the bounce, and moving well without the ball cutting for layups. Rayah made big shot after big shot and multiple clutch free throws to help her squad go undefeated for the week. Playing up a grade Rayah was one of the best players on the floor in most of the contest.
Kaia Bruneel 2025 Guard Michigan Drive Premier Willis S40
If there was a comeback Player of the Year award, Kaia would be hands down the winner. Kaia, after missing almost two years of hoops for various reasons, came back with a vengeance. She showed great athleticism, a high IQ, and an ability to hit the three consistently. The longer the tourney went on, the more comfortable she got, earning big minutes in crunch time, knocking down clutch shots, and making big stops on defense. Welcome back Kaia!
Ellie Pierson 2025 Wing Michigan Mystics National
Ellie, who just committed to Olivet to extend her career, had a nice showing this weekend for the Mystics. She is a versatile wing who made plays all over the floor. She was consistent from deep. She did a great job beating her defender and getting to the basket off the dribble. She is a tough defender who did a great job rebounding the ball and making the right pass to a teammate. Olivet got a good one!
Sadie Dykstra 2026 Wing Michigan Mystics P24 2026
Sadie is a wing that can play the 1-4 position. She is extremely smooth off the bounce, making plays and scoring at all three levels. She has great length and a great feel for the game. Watch out for Sadie in that 2026 class she is on the rise.
Clare Conzelmann 2025 Wing Michigan Mystics P24 RUH
Clare just seems to get better every time out. She shoots it with ease, catching and firing without hesitation knocking down threes with or without a defender in her face. She showed this weekend that she is not just a shooter by putting it on the floor and making plays in the lane off the bounce. Clare is one of the hot, available 2025 prospects. Someone is going to get an impact player ready to score immediately.
Layla Blumberg 2028 Guard Michigan Mystics Select
Layla is a winner and makes winning plays. What she lacks in size, she makes up for with heart, determination, and just flat out GAME. She gets to the basket and finishes in the lane over taller defenders. She can shoot it, and she has a nice, confident handle with a deceptively quick first step that she uses to get to her spots on the floor to make plays. Layla plays on one of the most exciting younger teams to watch, and she plays a big part in their success.
Alyvia McCorkle 2026 Guard Mac Irvine Fire 2025 P24
Alyvia is smooth off the bounce. She plays with great pace and patience, taking what the defense gives her and then exploding to the hoop, finishing in traffic. She had a great weekend, scoring from all three levels, playing up a year, and showing just how clutch she is by hitting a game-winner in a tough, hard fought contest. Another great guard in the Fire program.
Jhaliana Guy 2028 Guard Mac Irvin Fire 2027 P24
Only a 2028 Guys offer list is already crazy, and her work ethic is legendary. But all the stuff on paper means nothing if you can’t perform on the big stage. Playing up a year for the fire, Guy showed up. She has an elite handle, and she is fearless in attacking the hoop, using athleticism and cat-quick speed to finish. She shoots it consistently from deep and plays the game with a calm presence way older than her age. Jhaliana is the real deal and may end up being one of the hottest 2028 recruits in the country.
Colleena Bryant 2025 Guard 1 Nation 17U IE
Lee Lee is one of the best players in the state of Michigan, and she is a problem for anyone who plays against her on both ends of the floor. She is relentless on offense, attacking off the bounce and making big-time plays using a physical slick handle, high basketball IQ, and a mindset that is always a step ahead. She is a master of the PNR, making the right read and the right play. She shoots it from deep and competes every possession. On defense, she is full go all game, harassing the ball and causing havoc to the offense. Lee Lee is one of the top available 2025s in the state.
